 Rendezvous with the Evening  Sky

 "Man must rise above the Earth—to the top of the atmosphere and beyond—for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives." 


A hands-on astronomy workshop was conducted in our school premises for the students of Astronomy Club on 11 December 2018. It was an innovative workshop that evoked a lot of excitement among the students as well as parents. Students got the rare chance to handle telescopes on their own. They learnt to align the telescopes to focus and observe celestial objects. The students actually felt like AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS ready to explore the mysterious universe.









ROCKSPORT ACTIVITY
CLASSES IV-VI

D.L D.A.V Model School Pitampura , organised ‘Rocksport Adventure day Camp’ in the school campus with a lot many fun activities for the kids of class IV TO VI
The camp exposed campers to a variety of challenging and exciting activities like Zip live, hop scotch, swinging bridge, commando crawl, rope ladder climbing, Burma bridge, Zorbing, tent pitching and many more.
The camp was duly supervised by the school teachers and professional instructors from Rocksport, performing various activities.







PRIMARY PLUS / NIE ACTIVITY 
CLASSES IV-VI

The students came to know about the different Prime Ministers of India. Important points about their life and tenure as Prime Ministers. They also solved  maths problems In class VI the students  did  an activity related to Science. The main aim of these activities is to make  the child learn in a more positive manner.













TRIUMPH  2018
PRESENTATION BY STUDENTS OF CLASSES IV -VI
DATE : 15.12.18
Triumph- A Venture of Expressions, was organized by DLDAV Model School, Pitampura in association with Helen O Grady International,  a program designed for students  to enhance communication and conversational skills, promote social skills, stimulate creativity and concentration, provide a platform for success in performing arts and add to confidence and self-esteem of the child. The guests on the occasion was MS. Meenakshi Puri, Principal HOGI.
Triumph- showcased Speech and drama presentations of students of classes IV-VI. Ms. Meenakshi Puri  from Helen O Grady gave a welcome address and an epilogue on their approach.

Skills taught in School enables the students to translate knowledge, attitude and values in actual abilities.
Life skills can be defined as abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.

GENERAL DISCUSSION ON :
TOPIC : MY STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSESS 
An interactive session in which the students  shared their strengths and weaknessess. They also came up with ways to  change their weakness into their strengths.

                                                                               HAWAN

D.A.V. has not forgotten India's rich culture. The Hawan is not merely a ritual, but a simple and a healthy process which gives us peace .
The founder of the D.A.V. group of schools, Swami Dayananda Saraswathi, has said, "The Deva Yagna is the second duty of man". In this great Homa we pray to Agni - the god of fire - to cleanse our body, mind and soul of all sins, to keep our spirits high like Agni.
                                                                                 




CLASS IV
PEC ACTIVITY
RELAY RACE
DATE : 21.12.18

This activity helps to improve the running , jumping and hopping skills of the students. 
All the students enjoyed the activity . It was great fun to see them running with their full
might to emerge as a winner. Physical activities are the best way to keep oneself fit.



   

A visit to TOONY TAILS EXHIBITION

   Students of classes 6th and 7th ( 40 students ) visited WWF office at LODHI ROAD ,MAX MULLER MARG on 20th December where they were engaged  in various activities including demonstration of wildlife species. The WWF foundation aims at spreading awareness about environment among young children.

 After the activity session an interactive session was held wherein students were asked questions related to wildlife .


                                                                              







                                                          RAMANUJAN DAY ACTIVITY
CLASSES : IV -VI
DATE : 21.12.18

A self-taught mathematician who made extraordinary contributions to the world of mathematics, S Ramanujan was one of the most influential mathematicians of his time.
Along with Srinivasa Ramanujan's birth anniversary, December 22 is also known as 'National Mathematics Day'.

At DLDAV MODEL SCHOOL , this day was celebrated with an objective of creating awareness about importance of mathematics in day to day life situation and also to develope students' interest in studying Mathematics.

As part of the celebrations, outdoor as well as indoor activities were organized for the students of classes IV-VI. The activities were thoroughly enjoyed by all the students. Questionnaires  comprising of mental maths questons were framed . 
    








PEC ACTIVITY 
CONDUCTED IN CLASS V
DATE : 27.12.18

ZONE PASSING
The main aim of the activity was to enable the students to work together as a team.Catch or receive a ball that has been thrown from different heights and directions.Anticipate the path of the ball and be alert while throwing and catching the ball.
The students enjoyed to the fullest .
                                                                             






PRIMARY PLUS ACTIVITY
CLASSES IV -V
DATE : 28.12.18

Primary Plus activities were conducted in classes IV -V in the zero period.
In class V the students solved a puzzle related to English grammar and also a short passage on the life of Thomas Alva Edison was done in the class. The students solved a short questionnaire given at the end of the passage. Class IV students solved activities related to Science. They 
enjoyed the activity " Doctor our best friend".
