Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable humans to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life. 
With the aim of inculcating different values in students activities are conducted in the class.
Cleanliness and importance of keeping our surroundings clean . A debate on 'Is punishment an effective tool in building discipline and mannerism"and Love for sports were the topics taken up for discussion. The students participated in the discussion and expressed their views.

CLASSES IV-VI
The students of classes IV-VI memorized the tables with full zeal and enthusiasm. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity. The main aim of the activity was ' Learning with fun'.










ACTIVITY GALORE @ D.L.DAV PITAMPURA

CLASSES IV TO VI ON 6.7.18


Plastics  are bad, destructive, non-biodegradable and well, just not cool!  It may look quite useful, but with time it only harms us. The environment needs natural space just like us to work properly. 

Keeping in sync with the theme," Say No To Plastic" a number of activities were organised in classes IV-VI .


 The students of classes IV made jute  & paper bags  with short messages to save the environment by saying 'No To Plastic" Class V students made beautiful folders with the message on the measures to reduce the use of plastic in our daily lives.
Class VI students  made book marks and pledged not to use plastic .
 The students enjoyed the activities. It was fun learning for the students.

Plastic doesn't harm you, it harms our environment
using plastic thrills us but it kills our environment.

LIFE SKILL ACTIVITY

CLASSES  IV-VI
SKILL IS NOT ONE MORE THING STUDENTS HAVE TO LEARN. IT IS PART OF EVERYTHING THEY LEARN.”

The topic for class VI was Verbal and Non Verbal communication.
The students participated in the discussion with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The topic taken up in class V was   Reduce Wastage Of Water
 Stop , Rethink And Feel………..
All the students expressed their views on how we waste water. They also suggested measures to stop wastage of water. They were also instructed to note down the time and use , every time they open the tap for water.
In class IV the students were told about how to manage their negative feelings.















WORLD POPULATION DAY

CLASSES : IV-VI


E - BOARD ACTIVITY 
The students were show a power point presentation on World Population Day.The main points were discussed . The main aim was to make the students aware  of the population increase and the adverse effect of it .A short quiz was also conducted in the classes.

Co-curricular activities form the core of students' life in D L DAV Pitampura. The activities help to develop the all-round personality of the students. 

The students took keen interest in Extempore Speaking and made it very effective. The students presented their topics confidently .

                    VOC -TROVE ACTIVITY IN CLASSES IV-V



The activity were conducted house wise. The main aim was to enhance the vocabulary of the students. All the students solved 

the questionnaire  with full enthusiasm . 



      You can't build up  a vocabulary if you never meet any new words. And to meet them you must read. The more you read the better. 















ZERO PERIOD ACTIVITY
   CLASSES : IV&V  -  PRIMARY PLUS
       CLASS : VI - NIE 
DATE : 13.7.18
 A number of activities are conducted were conducted in class VI from the newspaper.

           The students were instructed to find out information on 
Apricot . They pasted pictures of Apricot and also found out the details about it. The botanical  name , variety and benefits of it. The information was pasted in their science note books. Some more activities were also done from the newspaper.

In the same way the students of classes IV & V enjoyed the activities related to Mathematics & English  from the Primary Plus. Some amazing facts were also discussed in the class. Solving Maths puzzles , finding data from the graphs and solving the Word search puzzles were really enjoyed by the students.                                      

                                                                















   CLEANLINESS  DRIVE


BY THE STUDENTS OF CLASSES IV-VI
 The students of IV D , VA & VI A  for the day became the cleanliness leaders . In order to sensitize
the students a cleanliness drive is initiated every Friday section wise. The students with full zeal and enthusiasm try to maintain cleanliness .








                                                                                   
LIFE SKILL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN CLASSES 
IV-VI.

DATE : 17.7.18

                   In class IV  the topic of discussion was 
                            "How to use internet safely".
  Students came to know about cyber crime like hacking etc and also were told about the measures to be taken while surfing the net.
                                    A general discussion on
 "Why it is important to be cyber    safe"?  was also held in the class.

         In class V   the topic taken up was Time management.


“Time management” is the process of organizing and planning

 how to divide your time between specific activities.

        Unless we can manage time, we can manage nothing else.
         The students prepared a time table for the daily activities so                          that he/she can find  enough time for all the day to day activities.

In Class VI the Theme was preventing and solving conflicts...The students learnt the importance of forgiving and making peace with others.

       ALL THE ACTIVITIES WERE ENJOYED BY THE STUDENTS.

MATHS TABLES

The students of classes IV learnt the tables of 12 &13. The students of Class V memorized the tables of 14 &15.
They were also given different activities related to tables which they solved with full zeal and enthusiasm.











CLASS VI
ASSEMBLY : CLASSES VI F&G
THEME : LIFE BEGINS AT THE END OF COMFORT ZONE


‘Life begins at the end of comfort zone’ – This topic reinforces the message that regardless of how inconvenient it may seem, change has the potential to result in something truly beautiful. Comfort zone is a great enemy to creativity; moving beyond it necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fear. Success, wealth, certainty, fulfillment, prosperity, financial freedom – you can achieve and get anything you want. The sky’s the limit, not the Comfort Zone!
The students tried to bring out the message of how small efforts on one’s behalf can actually bring desired positive change in a person, by stepping out of one’s comfort zone. This message was brought out through speeches, dance, song and poems.

CHANDRASEKHAR AZAD  AND BAL GANGADHAR TILAK  BIRTH ANNIVERSARY



       On the occasion of the birthday of the two great persons a power point presentation was shown to the students of classes IV-VI. The students came to know about their early life , education and other aspects of their life.


HEALTH ACTIVITY WAS CONDUCTED FOR THE STUDENTS OF CLASSES IV-VI.
The main aim of the  activity was to acquaint the students about the benefits of healthy eating habits and types of Personal Hygiene which the students should follow on daily basis.

  CLASS VI:   TYPES OF PERSONAL HYGIENE
VI A :  ORAL HYGIENE
        VI B: HAND WASHING AND WAYS TO PERFORM
   VI C : BODY HYGIENE
  VI D:  NAIL CARE AND WAYS TO MAINTAIN IT.
VI E : HAIR CARE AND WAYS TO MAINTAIN .
VI F &G :  SKIN CARE
The activity was very informative and the students came to know about the importance of maintaining  personal hygiene.








CLASS V:

The students were asked to bring cut outs out of different packed food items like wrappers of milk and milk products , fruits and vegetable juices. The students pasted the various cut outs on A4 size sheet and also wrote their composition and nutritional values.
The activity was enjoyed by all the students and they learnt about the nutritional value of different food items.










CLASS :  IV
HEALTH ACTIVITY
A short video was shown  to spread awareness among the students on the importance of hygiene .
How they can maintain hygiene and stay healthy.  A worksheet  related to health and hygiene was also done in the class.





LIFE SKILL ACTIVITY

CLASSES IV-VI




     The main aim of the activities is to equip the students with  relevant emotional skills and competencies to deal with difficult situations.

Class : VI 
Topic :  Confidence.
A short discussion on what is confidence ? Why is it important to be confident?
 was held in the class. The students actively participated in the discussion and also shared their views on how they can overcome their fear and become confident.






CLASS V

          THEME : SELF AWARENESS - SPECIAL ME

'We are all, each and every one, unique in the Universe. And that uniqueness is what makes us valuable.'
All the students pasted hand cut outs and wrote their positive traits on it.
They spoke on their strengths and weakness. 

BELIEVE IN YOUR CAPABILITIES AND YOU WILL SUCCEED. 






CLASS  IV
THEME : SELF AWARENESS
The main aim of the activity was to acquaint the students with their strengths and 
their weakness . How they can overcome their weakness with confidence and positive approach.








ASSEMBLY 
CLASSES  : V A, B & C
DATE : 25.7. 18

Topic: Dum Spiro Spero- While I Breathe I Hope

    The latin phrase ‘Dum Spiro, Spero’ which means- while I breathe, I hope. It is hope that creates positive vibes around us and enlightens our soul and  thoughts.

Hope is a beautiful concept, it drives us to our goal and ambitions and helps us achieve everything we desire and deserve.  A feeling or belief that the good things you hope for will happen in the future was the message conveyed by the students through small skits , poems and songs.
The students participated zealously . Their effort was appreciated by Madam Principal.  








CLASS VI 
ACTIVITY CONDUCTED :  DEBATE
TOPICS : ARE TODAY'S CHILDREN FASHION VICTIMS?
OR
PEER PRESSURE IS USEFUL OR HARMFUL
OR
MEDICAL TESTING ON ANIMALS DOES MORE GOOD THAN HARM
The students expressed their view points and spoke very confidently.  Each of them had their own view point.














E BOARD ACTIVITY
KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS
DATE :  26.7.18
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas a short power point presentation was shown to the students of classes IV-VI.
    A video on Kargil War was also shown to the students to acquaint the 
students with the sacrifices  made by the Indian Army .





Atlas activity was conducted in class VI.
Students had  to cut the outline of the 7 continents and arrange them in an increasing order. The activity helped the students to develop a habit of using an atlas.





E BOARD  PRESENTATION
   DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF DR. APJ ABDUL KALAM AZAD
DATE : 27.7.18
Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work.

A short video depicting the life and achievements of the great man was also shown to the students.. The power point presentation was followed by a short quiz.






PRIMARY PLUS AND NIE ACTIVITIES WERE CONDUCTED IN CLASSES V &VI
RESPECTIVELY.


In Primary Plus activities related to English were done in the class . A Short comprehension passage was done from the primary plus. The students were also encouraged to do the questions given at the end of the passage. Enhancement of vocabulary and usage of correct language was the main aim of the activity.
In NIE  activity related to Social Science was done in which the students were given a questionnaire whose answers they had to search from the given pages of the newspaper. The students vocabulary was enhanced with the help of the activity conducted.












LIFE SKILL ACTIVITY 
CONDUCTED IN CLASSES V AND VI
CLASS :  V
THEME : SIMPLICITY 


Values are the principles and beliefs that influence the behavior and way of life of a group of people or community.

SIMPLICITY
    Simplicity is identifying and being comfortable with those elaborate circumstances which shape our lives without worrying or making matters complicated.
A  short story was read out  in the class . The students were told about the ways to keep ourselves 
happy and content. They expressed their views and feelings on  how they can find happiness out of small things.






CLASS  VI
THEME :  CONCENTRATION
The main aim of the activity was to enhance the concentration power of the students so that they can :
  • finish things faster;
  • memorize things more easily;
  • study, learn and comprehend faster and more efficiently;
  • achieve better results;
  • acquire more control over our thoughts
